Pinks The Cat!

McAllisters Recovery Help Pinks the Littlest Hobo (Cat) Find His Way Home!

In the last 7 days, the team at McAllisters Recovery in Aldershot (a family vehicle rescue and recovery business) had unofficially adopted a stray cat with no collar that had become the company yard cat. Over time the guys tempted her in with titbits until she became a regular sight in the company team room, relaxing on the mat by the coffee machine on hot days when not patrolling the yard looking for a tasty morsel running around between the wrecked cars. Eventually when the trust had been gained (and she had earned her stripes and caught a mouse in the yard) of "Betty" as she was nicknamed to begin with, the managing director bowed to overwhelming pressure from his animal loving team to officially adopt Betty and let her live and patrol the yard for ever more.

She was subsequently taken to the vets for a checkover where we discovered she had a microtag. The vet revealed that "Betty" was actually "Pinks" a cat that had been missing from the Glasgow area of Scotland (over 400 miles away) for over 5 years. Somehow the littlest hobo cat had hitched a ride all the way down the length of the country before finally setting up residence at the vehicle recovery storage yard in Aldershot.

"Pinks" was actually one of a pair of twin cats owned by a family in Glasgow. Sadly the other twin died last week and though the family have been dealing with the loss of their dear family cat, they are overjoyed that its twin has been found and are headed down South to collect him this weekend.

From all the team at McAllisters Recovery we'd like to wish Pinks and her family all the best on her return trip where hopefully she will stay put, that said if she gets the travel bug again - she is always welcome to pop in for a coffee with us!
